Starring Tanzyn Crawford and Cliff Curtis, the action-packed series follows dysfunctional father-daughter duo as they embark on a thrilling heist-escapade through inner-city Melbourne. Marking #EarthDay with an Australian television first, as The Cook Up with Adam Liaw becomes the first show to measure its carbon footprint through Sustainable Screens Australia. Now in its sixth season, the program had its carbon footprint validated by the albert calculator – a tool to calculate and validate greenhouse gas emissions - via the leading screen industry organisation for environmental sustainability, Sustainable Screens Australia, of which SBS is a founding member. SBS Director of Television, Kathryn Fink said: “At SBS, we have ambitious plans in sustainability and are committed to ensuring they are credible, sound and have meaningful third-party validation which the albert calculator provided. Yesterday our offices celebrated #EarthDay with staff hearing from inspiring sustainability leaders Professor Tema Milstein and Dr John Carr from UNSW with their ‘Daily Delight Disrupt’ experience. From making seed bombs, walking barefoot on the grass or putting your phone in a basket for five minutes to disconnect, Milstein and Carr talk about starting viral global movement to reconnect with nature and each other. Congratulations to Hedayat Osyan - recipient of the Les Murray Refugee Recognition Award, former refugee from Afghanistan. and provider of training and employment to those most vulnerable in our community through his social enterprise, CommUnity Construction.   The award honours sporting legend Les Murray who for more than a decade hosted The World Game on SBS, and who himself arrived in Australia as a young refugee from Hungary in 1956.   Read more about Hedayat's story here: https://lnkd.in/gHHgaU-c

Alone Australia hits the mark once again with its third episode achieving a Total TV reach of 942,000 in the 7 days since it aired. The show continues to rank highly in the OzTAM VPM rankings with the show among the most watched shows on Australian BVOD. Audience numbers are set to continue to rise as Australians catch up on SBS On Demand, with the series last year drawing an average of more than 1 million viewers per episode, with half tuning in digitally. A big thank you to our MCs, Ali B. and Hana Yassin who welcomed Musician Ustad Sarashar, who shared his incredible playing of the Rubab with staff and Racha Abou Alchamat from Racha’s Syrian Kitchen for her insightful cooking demonstration. Thank you also to Founder of Artvision Creative Services, 🎸Marwa Abouzeid FGLF for her masterful calligraphy, alongside Abier Ayoubi from the Islamic Museum of Australia for spreading awareness about Islam, through culture and history by sharing her geometric art with staff.
