This panel discussion, 'The Power(lessness) of Websites,' will focus on a website as the dominant component of what comprises a hybrid artwork. If an artwork, intended for onsite experience, loses its physical importance when represented online in the form of a website, what power does its online presence have? What power does it lack? What role does such a website play?     STRP Scenario x Baltan Laboratories ✨   STRP Scenario is an on-going series of public talks that focus on the ethics of technology and the impact it has on individuals and society. During this event, STRP Scenario x Baltan Laboratories question: How can we redesign the underlying algorithms of technological systems to address the social and ecological inequalities they propel and sustain?   The Scenario takes place 11 April from 13:00-15:00 at Microstad, Eindhoven.     The 3-day festival STRP is a special mix of technology, art, music and a hopeful view of the future. This year the festival takes place in Microstad, a massive old telephone exchange, next to Eindhoven Central Station. To give you an idea of some of the works you can expect to see there, here are 3 must-sees. From April 11-13 you will find artwork by Bianca Carague whose 'Shore of dreams' explores a route to freedom. You can also play the game 'Democracy 2.0' by Ling Tan in which you have the freedom to shape your own rule system. And finally, you can experience a narrative simulation by Hanna Haaslahti. In addition to these works, there are more artistic, musical and informative works and encounters to be found during STRP, which has the theme "a matter of freedom" this year.
