Digital public goods #DPGs like open data platforms 💻 empower governments, researchers, businesses and farmers with climate information, helping them adapt to changing weather patterns and build long-term resilience. Proud to see UNDP in India's Data for Innovation in Climate Resilient Agriculture #DiCRA featured in UNDP Accelerator Labs's 2023 Annual Report (pg 36-37). DiCRA is a first-of-its-kind #DPG accredited by the which provides open access to key geospatial datasets pertinent to climate resilient agriculture. These datasets are compiled and validated through collaborative efforts of hundreds of data scientists and citizen scientists across the 🌏 . The data insights that emerge can strengthen evidence-driven policy making for climate resilient food systems. We are now working with NABARD - National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to scale up the use of the application in India and globally. Building a Community of Practice (#CoP) for #ClimateResilience of smallholder farmers. As part of the Financial Resilience in Agriculture (#FRA) initiative led by UNDP’s Insurance and Risk Finance Facility, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India & UNDP delegates from 20+ countries, came together to launch the FRA CoP & contribute to its 1st meeting on the role of governments in agriculture insurance. 💬 "CoP draws on our shared experiences, to enable dialogue & facilitate collaboration in accelerating effective agricultural insurance models globally.
