Body Language Experts Believe This Is the Reason Kate Middleton Was Alone in Her Cancer Announcement Video

After months of speculation, Catherine, Princess of Wales, better known as Kate Middleton, has come forward to explain her absence: she has cancer, and is about to go into chemotherapy. This has come as quite a huge shock for many around the world, and with three members of the royal family undergoing cancer treatments, it’s basically unheard-of territory now. In case you missed it, Kate announced her cancer diagnosis on March 22, with a heartbreaking video of herself on a bench, updating fans on what was happening.

While many online were angered that her husband, Prince William, wasn’t next to her, holding her hand as she told the world what’s been going on, body language experts claim there may be a simple reason why she stood alone in the video.

You can see the full video announcement here.

UK body language expert Judi James told Page Six that there were many signs in the brief video that showed Kate’s determination, strength, and more. James specifically told the outlet that there was a simple reason why Kate was alone in the video.

“The fact she sits alone is a testament to her strength and courage. Despite her obvious frailty, there are many signs of ongoing strength, determination, and firmness in her non-verbal signals,” she said, adding it was “one of the bravest solo speeches of any royal in history.”

James added that Kate was serious when she asked for “time, space, and privacy to recovery,” adding that “Her lips purse and pucker to show she means (that).”

And as for William, James says Kate’s body language showed that she and William are stronger than ever, saying Kate had a “faint smile of affection” when she said her husband was “a great source of comfort and reassurance.”

We hope for a speedy recovery for the Princess of Wales.
