A central hub for European law
The LCEL will focus on the interdisciplinary field of European law and use to full capacity its proximity to key EU institutions in Luxembourg. The new IC will combine academic excellence and strategic research with impact. The IC will reflect in its strategic focus the European political agenda of a dual (digital and green) transition and topics related to European sovereignty.
Prof. Pierre-Henri Conac, Professor at the University of Luxembourg and Max Planck Fellow, has been appointed by the Board of Governors of the University as Acting Director of the LCEL as of 1 January 2024. The launch of the formal process toward the nomination of the Founding director of the LCEL is under way.
His aim is to continue supporting the initiatives launched by the MPI’s departments and the scientific excellence established by the researchers at the LCEL.
