Hi I would like to know how much should I expect to be charge for dinner per person?? $40?$60? $90? what is a reasonable price? specially when the venue is letting me bring my own alcohol
I think it depends on what you are having. We are having stations, which means more of each type of food. I think the food cost is around $40-$45 per person but that's doesn't count equipment. We are having it on family property, so my equipment charges are probably larger than most. It includes a tent and every thing under it.
Ours is $108 per person which includes a four course meal, appetizer, salad and hor derves, a full open bar and a wedding cake. Its pricey but it includes everything, including a bridal suite and a matradee (sp?)
It definitely depends on the type of food you're having, how the food is being served (stations, buffet, sit down) and the area that you live in. There really isn't a standard across the board.

Yup. Like the ladies said it depends on the food and whether or not you are having a buffet or a sit down dinner. Another important factor is what area you are in. I am paying $148.80 per person, and am in the LA area
WHEW... glad we are getting married in MN... we are having a buffet... $18.95 per person for two different types of meat , with salad, veggies and rolls.
Yea it really depends where you do it and what you pick to have and how many choices. A full buffet type meal with prime rib and full bar will certainly be close to 100+ per person. If you just have salad and a chicken and a vegeterian with no bar? It could be 40 or less...
I definitely think it depends on the area you are in.
We are paying about $28 per person. Includes appetizers, dinner, cake, and a full open bar.
Our venue/caterer is costing us about $4k total for everything.

Yes, also take into consideration whether you will be having a cocktail hour and an open bar, this will most likely increase the price per person greatly, it increased our ppp by double.
We paid $70 per person in Phoenix. That covered a buffet dinner (two meat choices, two sides, salad, and bread), three butler passed appetizers for cocktail hour, the champagne toast, sodas, mixers, coffee, and tea. We provided our own liquor. (And it covered waitstaff, the bartender, tables/chairs/linens, etc).
It will vary greatly -- from $20 to $320 depending on your region and what kind of package you have (appetizers, sit-down, buffet, alcohol, cake, etc.) Most country clubs and other venues in the Philly area are $100-150/per person.
Thank you so much. This truly helps. Im in massachusetts and we are looking in Gloucester. The price is $89 per person (buffet style includes appetizers) We can have the place from 3 pm until 11 pm. They cant sell alcohol so we can bring ours. That includes everything. MN wow $18 that is so good. LA $148 wow. It is crazy how prices are so different. Tanks again
I'm with you Marie. Our meal will be about $16 - $20, depending on what we choose. 'Course that is meal ONLY. Beverages, apps, and venue aren't figured into that.
Every single place is different- not always fair or logical either. Ours is $25pp for dinner, all total for all food and drink is probably about $45pp. But down the street from our venue (by no means a cheap place) they start their meals at $100pp and average is close to $200. And thats in central PA. So there is no real way to tell. But there are ways to bring costs down, it all depends on your venue.
Ours ended up being $56 per person for a buffet style meal, however it's not "buffet" food, it's much nicer. It also included 1 hr of passed appetizers, a veggie/cheese display, and 4 hours of open bar. The open bar cost is $21 per person normally, so for food alone I'd say ours would have been closer to $35 just for the food. The venue also does allllll of the set up and take down, and works with us to supply centerpieces, we just show up and party lol.
