Judd Trump is safely through to the second round of the Wuxi Classic after a 5-1 victory against David Grace in China.

While not at his best, Trump negotiated a tough challenge in Grace and moves into the last 32, alongside John Higgins, Neil Robertson and Marco Fu.

Higgins made breaks of 122, 94 and 88 in his 5-3 win against Anthony McGill while Robertson received a walkover into the second round.

Fu top-scored with 111 in his 5-2 victory against Craig Steadman and was pleased to play in front of a stellar atmosphere.

"I played pretty well, especially in the break-building department," Fu told worldsnooker.com. "I could have played better safety - I lost two frames on the final black. Generally I'm happy with the result.

"It was a great atmosphere for the first day of the tournament, it was very enjoyable today. I made a nice century break which I didn't see coming because it was a difficult situation to clear up. I wanted to be relaxed and also entertain the crowd."

Elsewhere, there were wins for Stuart Bingham, Ricky Walden and Robin Hull.
