Kang takes turn in new film

Actor Kang Ji-hwan was cast for the Korean-Chinese film “Cheongangdaega,” multiple reports stated Thursday.
The upcoming romantic comedy, scheduled for release this winter, has been filming in Dalian, China, since November.
The actor is reported to be currently engaged in shooting.
“Kang is putting forth his best efforts for this upcoming movie,” noted his talent agency, Sim Entertainment. “He’s trying to communicate with each staff member, even in the scorching heat.”
In the film, the 38-year-old portrays top star Kim Hyun-jun. However, following a series of romantic scandals, he finds his acclaim waning, which leads him to China.
There, Kim meets one of his biggest fans, portrayed by Zhangyuan ? arguably the hottest Chinese TV personality in Korea right now - who affects Kim’s decision to return to the music industry.
Kang has received critical acclaim for hits including “My Girlfriend Is an Agent” (2009) and “Rough Cut” (2008).
He is also widely known for his roles in the TV drama series “Big Man” (2014) and “Capital Scandal,” which aired in 2007.
