Park Kwang-hyun gets musical role

테스트

Park Kwang-hyun will play a weighty role in the K-pop star studded musical “Summer Snow,” his agency FNC Entertainment said yesterday.

Based on a popular Japanese television series of the same name, the musical centers on a 23-year-old who cares for his deaf younger brother and pregnant 17-year-old sister after the death of their parents. The main character also has a girlfriend who is dying of a heart disease. Park, 35, will play a doctor who vies with the main character in a love triangle. The doctor chooses cardiology as his specialty to cure her of the disease.

The 11-episode series aired in 2000 on Japanese broadcaster TBS starring Tsuyoshi Domoto, Ryoko Hirosue and Tsubasa Imai.

The Korean musical, produced by Eunhasu Entertainment, brings together Super Junior’s Sungmin, Supernova’s Sungje, F.T. Island’s Song Seung-hyun, SS501’s Heo Young-saeng and U-Kiss’s Kevin and Soohyun.

It will be staged in Osaka next month and Tokyo in May. A total of 50 performances are scheduled to be held in Japan. By Moon Gwang-lip
