SM bags Top Chinese Music Awards

SM Entertainment bagged prizes from the Top Chinese Music Awards on Saturday.

The music award ceremony -- also known as Yinyue Fengyunbang in Chinese pronunciation -- took place at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center in Shenzhen, China on Saturday.

The best producer award went to chairman of SM Entertainment and record producer Lee Soo-man.

SM Entertainment‘s signature boy band EXO won two awards -- most popular foreign group and year’s best foreign group.

Kangta, a member of now-defunct boy band H.O.T, received the top hallyu idol award.

NCT U, a subunit of the agency‘s rookie boy band NCT which made its debut Friday at midnight, attended the ceremony to perform live on the stage.

Aside from musicians from SM Entertainment, Korean actor Park Bo-gum, who gained stardom through tvN’s hit TV series “Reply 1988,” won for best international artist.
