Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker and executive producer Annabel Jones are staying pretty coy about whether the show will be renewed for a fifth season.

The show’s fourth series recently dropped on Netflix, boasting space adventures in USS Callister and terrifying parental paranoia in episode Arkangel directed by Jodie Foster.

Asked by Metro.co.uk on the possibility of a fifth season however, the pair smirked before zipping their lips, saying: ‘We would love to do it. We’re focusing on series four at the moment.’

The pair also explained why they don’t tire of writing about humanity’s potential bleak future in the show, remarking how they’re often ‘cackling like sadists’ in the writer’s room.

Brooker also recently spoke to Metro.co.uk about teaming up with Jodie Foster and if they felt any pressure to match the award-winning season three episode, San Junipero.

You can catch Black Mirror season four streaming on Netflix.
