Opposition to power station plan
Plans for a power station in Worcestershire are facing opposition after about 1,700 residents signed a petition protesting against it.

Developers CJ Day Associates want to build the biomass plant in the Bromyard Road Business Park, in the south of Tenbury Wells.

The Tenbury Action Group has been formed to fight the plans.

Campaigners are worried about the impact of heavy lorries, cable routing and possible air pollution.

Supporters have pointed to job creation, a boost to farmers and the carbon-neutral nature of the project being among its benefits.

No planning application has yet been submitted to Malvern Hills District Council.
