O'Sullivan could not compete with an on-song Fu
|
Ronnie O'Sullivan crashed out of the World Championship in the first round as qualifier Marco Fu held his nerve to complete a 10-6 win.
The session started with O'Sullivan trailing 6-3 despite his stunning 147 break on Tuesday, and Fu soon extended his lead with a composed break of 133.
Fu kept the momentum going as he took the next after O'Sullivan saw his break of 36 stopped in its tracks as the black rattled in the jaws.
There's no explanation for the way I played

The world number one hit a 55 break to take the 12th, but Fu restored the five-frame gap at the mid-session interval with a clinical 83 in the 13th.
O'Sullivan fought back to take a nervous 14th frame with both players missing straightforward pots as the tension mounted.
And the number two seed kept his hopes alive with the next frame after Fu wasted the chance to make the game safe.
But the reprieve was only temporary as Fu took full advantage of a careless in-off by O'Sullivan in the next frame with a break of 67 to seal a famous win.
