Neath 14-year-old Michael White has become the youngest-ever winner of the world amateur snooker crown. White, in the record books as the youngest-ever compiler of a century break at the age of nine, beat Mark Boyle 10-5 in the final in Prestatyn.
The Welsh youngster came through a field of 80 players at the World Grand Prix, which replaced the World Amateur Championship cancelled last November.
"It's amazing to be the youngest, it'll take time to sink in," said White.
The teenager has won the Welsh national under 14, under 18 and under 21 titles and was runner-up in the Welsh Championship last year.
White, who has former world champion Terry Griffiths as his mentor, cannot turn professional for another two years as the lower age limit is set at 16.
