Jamie Cope cruised into the second round of the Welsh Open with a thumping 5-1 victory over Ding Junhui. The Longton potter, runner-up to Neil Robertson at the Grand Prix in Aberdeen in October, took just one hour and 41 minutes to progress.
Cope never allowed his teenage opponent to get into the game and racked up impressive breaks of 110, 44, 70 and 78 to ease through.
Cope now faces Shaun Murphy in the second round on Wednesday.
