"This album can be considered my real debut, because it is a true reflection of my style and my own taste in music," said Choi in an interview with The Korea Herald, adding, "I want to surprise people with each album that I record." Although Choi, 21, is a promising singer with a proven ability to recreate his image and sell albums, unlike many recording artists who focus on singing, dance is his original passion. Involved in a school rock band in high school, he was more interested in dancing. "I didn`t begin singing until my senior year in high school," he said.
After a failed attempt at releasing an album with a dance group called A4 in 1999, Choi decided to take voice lessons and his first solo album was released last year.
Expanding his artistic involvement, Choi wrote the lyrics for three songs on his new album: "Dilemma," "Pretty Lady" and "Luz Control"-a collaboration with fellow artist, Seven.
The music video for "With Me" was shot in Kuala Lumpur with scenes of white sandy beaches and Choi driving a classic red convertible with his friends. "I found it very exciting and I saw many new things that are different from Korea. I loved durian and other exotic tropical fruits that I tried for the first time. It was also interesting to see how Muslim women keep their head covered, some even covering their faces," Choi said.
Because of his smooth, seductive voice, Choi`s female fans describe him as sexy, a description that leaves the singer blushing. "I hear that females find my voice sexy, but I really don`t think of that this way. I always think, `Well, that`s their opinion.` I really don`t feel that way," said Choi.

휘성은 코리아헤럴드와의 인터뷰에서 “이 앨범은 저의 진정한 데뷔 앨범이라고 할 수 있습니다. 왜냐하면 이 앨범은 제 스타일과 음악적 취향을 반영하니까요”라고 말했다. “저는 녹음하는 매 앨범마다 사람들을 놀라게 만들고 싶어요”라고 그는 덧붙였다.
이미지 변신과 앨범 판매고에서 능력을 입증한 휘성(21)은 전도유망한 가수임에도 불구하고 노래에만 전념하는 많은 레코딩 아티스트와는 달리 그는 본래부터 댄스에 대한 깊은 열정을 갖고 있다. 고등학교 시절 교내 록밴드에 가입해서도 그는 댄싱에 더 많은 관심을 쏟았다. “저는 고3때가 되어서야 노래를 시작했습니다”라고 그는 말했다.
1999년 그가 참가했던 댄스그룹 A4가 앨범 발매에 실패한 뒤 휘성은 노래 교습을 받을 결심을 했고 지난 해 그의 첫 번째 솔로 앨범을 출시했다.
