T.F. Green Airport in Warwick is going to be the official airport of the New England Patriots, according to the Rhode Island Airport Corporation.

RIAC made the announcement Monday evening.

“We are extremely excited that the Patriots have chosen T.F. Green as their official airport,” RIAC President and CEO Iftikhar Ahmad noted in a press release. “We look forward to celebrating their inaugural flight this Wednesday and Rhode Island-based Patriots fans can certainly be proud of this development.”

Jim Nolan, who is the chief operating officer for the Patriots, shared similar sentiments.

“The New England Patriots are proud to partner with the Rhode Island Airport Corporation to make T.F. Green our official airport for all of our team’s charter flights,” Nolan said in the statement. “We have had a great relationship with Rhode Island for years and look forward to that continuing well into the future.”

The release went on to note that the championship team will operate two custom 767 planes out of the airport, which is located at 2000 Post Road. While the first plane arrived last week and will be kept at T.F. Green. the second will be housed at Quonset State Airport.

“Rhode Island is America’s smallest state, but you won’t find bigger Patriots fans anywhere in the world, and T.F. Green Airport can’t be matched for convenience,” Gov. Gina M. Raimondo said. “T.F. Green and the Patriots are a match made in heaven."
