Wheesung, a popular R&B singer, has set up "Realslow Company", a new independent music label and changed his stage name to "Realslow".

"Wheesung will present fans with new music, different from what he used to practice," said Realslow Company in a statement on Tuesday. Realslow is a stage name used by the R&B singer when he was an underground singer.

The 35-year-old will continue to pursue the genres of R&B, slow jam and neo soul, his label said. The company also added that the singer is preparing to make his comeback with a new album.

Wheesung gained attention in the early 2000s as an underground musician before he debuted in 2002. His first album "Like a Movie" gained explosive popularity, setting a footstone for success. His second album "It's Real" was placed on the top of album charts for six consecutive weeks.

The singer is renowned as one of the pioneers of R&B music in the South Korean music industry.
