Bell Media’s The Movie Network Inks National Licensing Agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution

– The Movie Network and The Movie Network Encore subscribers will enjoy an extensive variety of movie titles from Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures, and Fox 2000 including recent Golden Globe® winner The Martian, Fantastic Four; The Peanuts Movie, X-Men: The Last Stand, and Wall Street –

TORONTO (January 13, 2016) – Bell Media’s The Movie Network announced today it has reached a licensing agreement with Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution that delivers first run theatrical titles from Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures, and Fox 2000 to The Movie Network and The Movie Network Encore subscribers. The agreement also offers a wide selection of library films to subscribers of The Movie Network and The Movie Network Encore. Film titles will be offered on all available platforms, including on-air, on demand, and on TMN GO. The deal also permits Fox theatrical titles to be made available to subscribers of Movie Central in Western Canada until The Movie Network completes its national expansion later this year. “Fox has an outstanding slate of new feature film titles, not only in the pay-television window, but currently in theatres and in production, plus an incredible collection of epic library titles,” said Tracey Pearce, Senior Vice-President, Specialty and Pay, Bell Media. “We’re thrilled to increase the volume of first-run features and classic movies for our subscribers, and continue to offer audiences the best value proposition for premium film and television content”. Titles coming to The Movie Network in 2016 in their first-run pay TV window include: The Martian, Fantastic Four, The Peanuts Movie, The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Spy, Far From the Madding Crowd, Poltergeist; Maze Runner, and more. Examples of library titles coming to classics channel The Movie Network Encore in 2016 include: The X-Files: Fight the Future, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Wall Street, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and many more.
