A researcher of metropolitan markets nationwide has dubbed Columbus one of the 10 best big cities and most affordable in a new ranking.

Brighton, Mich.-based RelocateAmerica has compiled its 100 top places to live list for the past 13 years. Rankings come from residents’ nominations followed up by surveys and an analysis of federal data on income, crime, employment and education statistics.

Among several individual lists RelocateAmerica compiled, Columbus made the final cut in a top 10 ranking of the nation’s biggest cities, which also included metro juggernauts such as Chicago, Dallas and Boston. It also was one of two Ohio cities, along with Cincinnati, to make the cut in a top 10 ranking of the most affordable metros.
