Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is now officially the head of a newspaper, completing his $250 million acquisition of the Washington Post’s publishing business Tuesday afternoon.

The Washington Post Co. now moves ahead operating its cable and broadcast television businesses and Kaplan education company. The Post has not disclosed a new name for the company, though one is required as part of the sale of its newspaper business.

Donald Graham remains chief executive of the newly-minted, soon-to-be renamed company.

At the newspaper, Katharine Weymouth remains publisher. Martin Baron remains executive editor.

According to the Washington Post, Weymouth sent a memo to employees Tuesday afternoon saying "We are officially under new ownership and a new era for the Washington Post begins."
