Popular rock musician and TV personality Yoon Do-hyun will release his first solo album in nearly five years, according to an announcement made by his agency, Dee Company, on Monday.

Coming shortly after his rock band YB made its international debut in the United Kingdom and the United States, lead singer Yoon is gearing up to unveil his first solo release since his “Harmony” EP in 2009.

The upcoming EP titled “Singing Yoon Do-hyun” is scheduled to drop on Sept. 16. The album’s lead single “Lately My Demeanor” will be preleased online on Aug. 28.

“Compared to his previous albums, I think people will be able to hear the true sounds of Yoon Do-hyun through this album,” stated the press release. “Yoon Do-hyun’s solo album will feature songs with acoustic guitar as well as the hardcore music style that is associated with YB.”

Earlier this year Yoon and his band made their debut in the U.K. and the U.S. with the single “Cigarette Girl.” The song was originally a 1986 hit track by local folk singer Song Chang-sik before it was remade by YB in 1999.

The English version of “Cigarette Girl” was released internationally on Feb. 18, after the band signed with the former manager of American hard rock legend Guns N’ Roses, Doug Goldstein.

The single, which marks the band’s first international release under a foreign agency, was previously reported to have been selected after music industry officials in the U.K. and U.S. determined that it “most appropriately represented YB’s musicality and character,” according to representatives of Dee Company.
