The upcoming period thriller Mulgoe (a Korean title which can be translated as Water Monster) has wrapped filming after three months of production. The picture stars KIM Myung-min, PARK Hee-soon, LEE Gyoung-young, CHOI Woo-shik, PARK Sung-woong, KIM In-kwon and K-pop star Hyeri of Girl’s Day, in her film debut. It is the third feature from director HEO Jong-ho.

Mulgoe is set in the Joseon Era, and features a water-based monster that disrupts the Joseon Kingdom. Production ended in the Yangpyeong County of Gyeonggi province on July 21st after filming across the country in locations such as Paju, Yangju, Gwangju City (of Gyeonggi province) and South Gyeongsang province.

KIM Myung-min recently appeared in A Day and will be seen again at the end of this month in V.I.P., which also features PARK Hee-soon. LEE Gyoung-young is currently in theaters with The Battleship Island while CHOI Woo-shik recently starred in BONG Joon-ho’s Okja.

Director HEO made his debut with the grifter drama-thriller Countdown, starring JEON Do-yeon and JUNG Jae-young, in 2011. His most recent work was the legal comedy-thriller The Advocate: A Missing Body, with LEE Sun-kyun and KIM Go-eun in 2015.

Financier and distributor KIDARI ENT, which has produced films such as Derailed (2016) and The Tooth and the Nail, will release the film next year.
