  • JO Jung-suk and DOH Kyung-soo to Play Brothers in OLDER BROTHER
  • by Kobiz reporter /  Sep 02, 2015
  • The Family Drama Will Be Directed by BAREFOOT KI-BONG Director KWON Soo-kyung

Young stars JO Jung-suk and DOH Kyung-soo co-star in new family drama Older Brother (Korean title). It is a story about two brothers who cohabit as the swindling older brother (JO) appears to the younger brother (DOH) fifteen years after he left home. Barefoot Ki-Bong director KWON Soo-kyung will direct the film, while Miracle in Cell No.7 writer YOO Young-a writes the screenplay.

KWON says “I wish the audience could think about what family means while watching this film.”

JO will play the shameless swindler Du-sik, who succeeds in getting a parole from his sentence on the pretext of taking care of his younger brother. JO became popular as 2012’s Architecture 101, where he played a supporting role, made it to a big hit. He lately acted a chef in TV drama Oh My Ghostess.

“It is all actors and actresses’ desire to perform in a good film. That is why I chose Older Brother without hesitation. The charming point of the film is the human story that everyone will find easy to relate to. I am already excited,” said JO on a press release.

DOH plays the younger brother who used to be a promising judo player but ends up with his life all twisted as he meets with an unexpected accident right before his selection contest for the national team. A member of the top K-pop idol boyband EXO, DOH had his film acting debut in BOO Ji-young’s social drama Cart.

“My role in Older Brother is something that I have never played before, which makes me want to do a good job. The scenario got me so excited and nervous that I could not sleep at all,” said DOH.

Production will be handled by GOOD CHOICE CUT PICTURES, while CJ Entertainment will distribute the film. Older Brother will start production in October aiming to hit cinemas next year.
