TV5 will air its own adaptation of the Koreanovela The Baker King.
This time, Artista Academy finalist Mark Neumann will take on the lead role as Kim Takgu (originally played by Yoon Shi-yoon).
Shaira Mae will serve as his leading lady.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) through Facebook Messenger, Shaira Mae said that the soap opera will be directed by Mac Alejandre.
According to TV5's official Instagram account, the Pinoy adaptation of The Baker King will air starting May 18, 2015.
Direk Mac has been quoted as saying about his upcoming project: "Naniniwala ako na muling mamahalin ng maraming Asyano ang Baker King ng TV5 dahil sa mga bago at veteran actors natin."

The cast members also include Akihiro Blanco, Ynah Estrada and Malak So Shdifat and backed up by an ensemble of veteran stars: Diana Zubiri, Yul Servo, Raymond Bagatsing, Joonee Gamboa and Miss Boots Anson Roa.
The loveteam of Mark and Shaira Mae, dubbed as ShaRk, was previously featured in TV5’s drama anthology Wattpad Presents, namely, Mr. Popular meets Miss Nobody, Mr. Popular Meets Miss Nobody 2: Still in Love, I’m In Love With A Dota Player and The Magic In You, which was shot in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Wayback in December 2013, TV5 announced that it will be adapting The Baker King along with the U.S. drama Pretty Little Liars and another koreanovela My Fair Lady, which was aired in ABS-CBN in 2011.

In 2010, The Baker King first aired on GMA-7 and did very well in the ratings game. It tells the story of brothers Tak Gu and Matthew who are competing with each other in the baking industry.
