Facebook support on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita is ending, beginning with the removal of the social network's app on the PlayStation Store.
The shutdown involves not only the app but any kind of Facebook features integrated in those two platforms, as well as the PlayStation TV.
As the PlayStation 4 is not involved, features like linking the console to a user's Facebook account or sharing captured video to Facebook are not affected.
The app was removed from the store yesterday. Sony says Facebook support on PS3, PS Vita and PlayStation TV will end in January.
It's another shutdown of little-used apps or services on PlayStation platforms. In January, Sony terminated support for the PS Vita's YouTube and Maps application, as well as the Near social network that was supposed to connect Vita users playing the same game, but never caught on either with developers or users.
