Ares 4 Live From Baghdad is one of the best films HBO has ever made and it's NEVER ON HBO!!! WTF!!! WHY???? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/21/23 Full Review Steve D Michael Keaton gives a great performance. The rest is ok. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Michael Keaton, Lilli Taylor, Colm Feore, and Helena Bonham Carter star in the true story of covering one of the messiest conflicts in US history Kuwait City 1990 is under attack America and Iraq go to war with its allies CNN Headquarters needs live coverage of the Gulf War so they assign executive producer Robert Weiner and Ingrid Formanek and Judy Parker They head over to Baghdad to cover the real story mainly around Saddam Hussein but it'll be anything but easy It's battling Iraqi censorship, enormous political tension battle over access, the fight to keep the technology up and running.. and the decision whether to risk their lives behind enemy lines once the bombing starts, in order to get the story of a lifetime This movie by HBO Films moves with a sense of urgency, danger, and high stakes with a powerful leader of such a massive reputation It's up to the news to report the worlds problems not solve them A very good film about electronic journalism Some of the drama could be better but it's main focus is to tell the story even if it's not the one we would've wanted Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/08/22 Full Review Audience Member This HBO war drama was really good. Michael Keaton and the rest of the cast did an excellent job in this movie. This true story about the Persian Gulf War was pretty intense and dramatic. It even gives the viewers an inside look on what happened there. I would recommend this movie to anyone. It's worth seeing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member just a steaming turd of a movie. It could not be more boring. There is no humor, no suspense, no drama, nothing good. An absolute turd. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member This was an interesting look behind the scenes of CNN's efforts to bring the 1991 bombing of Baghdad into the homes of TV viewers. It brings to light the heroic sacrifices made by journalists, camera crews and producers to keep us informed while working in hostile dangerous areas. A good effort from Keaton, & Carter, help make this a really decent film.. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

John Leonard New York Magazine/Vulture ... not only are we permitted to watch on a cable channel that doesn't even have a news division, but we are encouraged to be nostalgic about the first assault on Saddam Hussein just in time for the second. Jan 31, 2018 Full Review Barry Johnson Hollywood Reporter The teleplay from Wiener, Richard Chapman, John Patrick Shanley and Timothy J. Sexton is mostly taut and exciting, except when it pauses for a minimally romantic time out between Wiener and Formanek.
