In a report showing the worldwide installed base of video surveillance cameras, the numbers continue to rise, but the rate of increase slows year after year. Percentage-wise, the highest increase from 2015 was in HD CCTV, while the lowest increase was in analog cameras at 2 percent. The study found there was an installed base of 245 million security cameras in 2014, and 65 percent of cameras were installed in Asia. Among the leading vendors were Hikvision and Hanwha Techwin (formerly Samsung Techwin), while Axis Communications was the leading network camera vendor by installed base.
