Over 900 run for spreading Bhagwan Mahaveer’s message

March 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:54 am IST - PUDUCHERRY:

Over 900 participants from the Jain community took part in the Ahimsa Run on Sunday to celebrate Mahavir Jayanti and to spread the message of Mahaveer including non-violence and vegetarianism.

The race was held in two categories -- 7 km for 14 years and above and 4 km for children below 14 years. Through the run, the organisers hoped to spread the message of Bhagwan Mahaveer, promoting non-violence and vegetarianism.

Prizes were given to the top three participants in each category.
