Swansea City star Ki Sung-Yueng and TV star and actress Han Hye-jin have become the “Posh and Becks of South Korea” after marrying in the country’s capital Seoul.

The actress, 31, wed  highly rated midfielder Ki, 24,  in the luxury Intercontinental Hotel in the Gangnam district of Seoul, made famous by South Korean pop star PSY’s smash hit of the same name.

They held a press conference at the Coex Intercontinental Hotel in Seoul's Samsung-dong before their Monday afternoon wedding.

The two could not hide their excitement in front of a large crowd of TV camera crews and journalists.

Han Hye-jin said: “Today is the happiest time. I never knew I would be so nervous but I think this is the most exciting day of my life. I think this is the happiest day of my life.

“From this day on I will do my best to assist such a wonderful husband through life.”

Ki Sung-Yueng added: “We've had many things happen before getting married but today seems to be the happiest time for us.

“I will try my best for the bride to live happily and also to live as a couple with good influence.

“For me this is the happiest time of my life and it is made even happier because I am with the world’s most beautiful bride.”

Ki revealed that he would be leaving early today to fly back to Swansea for pre-season training which begins this week.

He said: “I am so sorry to my wife that I have to leave tomorrow. “

He also said he was looking forward to living with his wife in Swansea where he has an apartment in the high rise Meridian Quay tower in Swansea Marina.

She joins him in August after finishing filming on Healing Camp, the hit South Korean talk show on SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System).

She is currently one of three main hosts on the show. The couple actually registered their marriage last week before Monday’s glitzy wedding at the Intercontinental Hotel.

Both are devout christians and the ceremony was officiated by a pastor with a singer serenading the couple in South Korean tradition.
