Ship Passenger Records, created, ca. 1977 - 2010, documenting the period 1820 - 1912
This series is an updated set of passenger list records from the Castle Garden Immigration Center. It includes 5 million new passenger list records for a total of 11 million passenger records. Most of the records are for European passengers who arrived at selected East Coast ports in America between 1820 and 1912. These records replace the various American Passenger Data Files from the Balch Institute for Ethnic Studies, Center for Immigration Research.

Numerical Identification Files (NUMIDENT), created, 1936 - 2007, documenting the period 1936 - 2007
This series contains data from the Social Security Administration's Numerical Identification Files (NUMIDENT). The Claim Files contain information extracted from Social Security life or death claims for 25 million deceased individuals. The records include information such as name, social security number, birth date, and birth place. This is in addition to the nearly 50 million NUMIDENT death records and 72 million NUMIDENT application (SS-5) records already on AAD.

Index to the Correspondence, created, 1/1/1984 - 12/31/1995, documenting the period 1983 - 1995
This series consists of indices that contain information about letters received by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of the Secretary from 1983 - 1995. Most of the letters are from the general public, which were either sent directly to the agency or referred to the agency by other federal agencies, members of Congress, or the White House. The index covers the terms of Secretaries Samuel Pierce, Jack Kemp and Henry Cisneros.

Records of Prime Contracts Awarded by the Military Services and Agencies, created, 7/1/1975 - 9/30/2006, documenting the period 7/1/1975 - 9/30/2006
We have added the Fiscal Year 2006 records of this series to AAD, for an additional 1,272,615 new records. The series, popularly known as the "Defense Contract Action Data System (DCADS)," contains information about contracts for goods and services between the private sector and the military services and agencies of the Department of Defense.

Numerical Identification Files (NUMIDENT), created, 1936 - 2007, documenting the period 1936 - 2007
This series contains data from the Social Security Administration's Numerical Identification Files (NUMIDENT). The Death Files contain nearly 50 million records of individuals with a social security number with a verified death or who would have been over 110 years old by December 31, 2007. The records include information such as name, social security number, birth date, and death date.

This series contains data from the Social Security Administration's Numerical Identification Files (NUMIDENT). The Application (SS-5) Files contain information extracted from applications for a Social Security Card for nearly 41 million social security numbers of deceased individuals. The records include information such as name, social security number, birth date, birth place, and parents' names. This is in addition to the nearly 50 million death records from NUMIDENT.

We have added the Fiscal Year 2005 records of this series to AAD, for an additional 1,357,166 new records. The series, popularly known as the "Defense Contract Action Data System (DCADS)," contains information about contracts for goods and services between the private sector and the military services and agencies of the Department of Defense.

Central Foreign Policy Files, created, 7/1/1973 - 12/31/1979, documenting the period ca. 1973 - 12/31/1979
We have added the 1979 fully releasable permanent electronic telegram records and withdrawal card records and the 1979 fully releasable permanent P-Reel Index records and withdrawal card records of this series to AAD, for an additional 531,525 new records. The series, popularly known as the "State Department Cables" or the "State Department Telegrams," consists of telegrams between the Department of State and Foreign Service posts.

Records serve as an index to microfilmed documents. The series, popularly known as the State Department Cables or the State Department Telegrams, consists of telegrams between the Department of State and Foreign Service posts.

Awards Information Management System (AIMS) Files, created, 7/15/1988 - 4/8/2004, documenting the period ca. 9/6/1925 - 4/8/2004
This series contains data about some Navy or Marine Corps awards given to units and individuals as entered into the Awards Information Management System. The bulk of the records are for service during the Vietnam War through the 1990s. There are also some award records for service during World War II and the Korean War, along with other time periods.
