Ashley B. Moody (Republican Party) is the Attorney General of Florida. She assumed office on January 8, 2019. Her current term ends on January 5, 2027.
Moody (Republican Party) ran for re-election for Attorney General of Florida. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
She succeeded Pam Bondi (R), who served from 2011 to 2019. The Florida Attorney General is limited to serving two consecutive four-year terms.
Moody was previously a judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida from 2007 to 2017. She was elected in 2006 and took office on January 2, 2007. Moody resigned from the bench in April 2017 to run for attorney general of Florida.[1][2]
Biography
Moody earned a B.S. in accounting, a master's degree in accounting, and a J.D. from the University of Florida. She also earned a master of laws degree in international law from Stetson University College of Law.[1]
Prior to her election to the 13th Judicial Circuit Court, Moody served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Florida. Her experience also includes work as an associate for the law firm Holland & Knight LLP, an assistant to the president of the American Bar Association, and an adjunct professor for Stetson University College of Law.[1]
