Parsons Green drive through swabbing hub for Covid-19

Published: 24th February 2020

Update 2 April: In line with national guidance, this swabbing hub closed week commencing 16 March. Patients are not being referred to Parsons Green Health Centre for testing.

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is working with our healthcare partners to ensure a collaborative response to Covid-19 across the system.

Working with our partners in the North West London Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP), our Parsons Green Health Centre will act as a drive through swabbing Hub for Covid-19.

These arrangements went live on Monday 24 February.

This is a referral only service supplied by the nursing and therapy workforce of Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, accessed and medically supported by the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust medical team.

Those referred to the centre for swabbing will arrive in their own car, and will not enter the building. They will be swabbed outside by specially trained nurses, under a purpose built awning.

Samples will be collected by the community testing service using a standardised process.

The Parsons Green site has no emergency services and as such the following cases will not be seen by the service and will be re-directed to emergency departments:

  • cases who are clinically unwell
  • cases aged under 16 years
  • cases known to be pregnant.

Residents who cannot drive are being visited in their own home to have their tests.

If you are swabbed at one of our drive-through hubs, you will receive your results from the relevant acute provider by phone in a minimum of 72 hours.

You should remain self-isolated until you receive your results.

The swabbing hub will not be able to provide the results of your swab.
