Caltrain

Caltrain runs regular train service up and down the peninsula, from San Francisco to Gilroy. The downtown Palo Alto Transit Center is a 15-minute walk from the Home of Champions, or you can take Stanford's free shuttle, Marguerite, to campus.

Marguerite

Marguerite is Stanford's free shuttle bus service. On weekdays, take the Y-Line to the Alumni Center stop, then cross Campus Drive to either the Visitor Center or south to the Arrillaga Family Sports Center and the Home of Champions. To return to the Palo Alto Transit Center, take the X-Line from the Visitor Center. On weekends, take the N-Line to the Stanford Oval and the old Main Quad. Stroll south along Serra Mall, and left down Galvez Street to either the Visitor Center or south to the Arrillaga Family Sports Center and the Home of Champions. To return to the Palo Alto Transit Center, take the O-Line from the Stanford Oval.

SamTrans

SamTrans is San Mateo County's bus system. To reach the Stanford campus, take the ECR line along El Camino Real, stopping at the Palo Alto Transit Center. Transfer there to the Marguerite shuttles.

VTA

VTA is Santa Clara County's bus system. To reach the Stanford campus, take the 22 or 522 lines along El Camino Real, stopping at the Palo Alto Transit Center. Transfer there to the Marguerite shuttles.

Where is it located?

The Home of Champions is located in the Arrillaga Family Sports Center, at 641 E. Campus Drive, on the Stanford campus.

When is it open?

The Home of Champions is open Weekdays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. We are generally CLOSED on Sundays, but open for ticketed events at Maples Pavilion, including Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Women’s Volleyball, and Women’s Gymnastics. We will also be open Sundays for special event weekends, such as Reunion Homecoming, Admit Weekend, etc.

On home football Saturdays, we will be open until 90 minutes prior to kickoff. For kickoffs earlier than 3:00 p.m., the Home of Champions will open at 9:00 a.m. For kickoffs 3:00 p.m. or later, we will open at 10:00 a.m. For all Football games, the Home of Champions will close when stadium gates open – 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

The Home of Champions will stay open late for Weeknight (Monday through Thursday) ticketed events at Maples Pavilion, closing 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.

Are there tours?

The Home of Champions is a self-guided museum. Staff is available on site to answer any questions you may have.

How big is it?

The space covers 18,000 square feet, on two levels, in the center of the Arrillaga Family Sports Center.

What's in it?

Over 40 displays highlighting stories of student-athletes, coaches and donors, and the history of Stanford Athletics, through interactive and static media.

Why is it important?

The Home of Champions will be a consistent reminder of the values we uphold, the storied history of Stanford Athletics, and the individuals and stories that made it what it is today. It was made possible by the generous support of donors to Stanford Athletics.

Is there somehwere to eat?

Food and drink are not allowed in the Home of Champions, but there are nearby dining options on weekdays. Jimmy V's Sports Cafe is in the Arrillaga Family Center, next to the Home of Champions, and is a favorite of Stanford Athletics' staff and coaches. It is open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. The Arbuckle Dining Pavilion is located at the Graduate School of Business across Campus Drive, and is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The Alumni Cafe is located at the Arrillaga Alumni Center near the corner of Campus Drive and Galvez Street, and is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Every day, there are many dining options in Downtown Palo Alto and Town & Country Village, both just east of the Stanford campus.
