  • Constituted 18 October 1927 in the Regular Army as the 65th Engineer Battalion
  • Assigned 26 August 1941 to the 25th Infantry Division
  • Activated 1 October 1941 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 January 1944 as the 65th Engineer Combat Battalion
  • Reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1954 as the 65th Engineer Battalion
  • Inactivated 15 August 2005 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and relieved from assignment to the 25th Infantry Division
  • Headquarters and Headquarters Company activated 16 October 2007 at Fort Shafter, Hawaii (Support Company concurrently constituted and activated)
  • Assigned 16 October 2014 to the 2d Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division (Support Company concurrently inactivated and lettered companies activated)
