Novel functions of B cells

Crit Rev Immunol. 2007;27(2):141-51. doi: 10.1615/critrevimmunol.v27.i2.20.

Abstract

T cells clearly help B cells to produce antibodies and acquire memory. Recently, B cells were found to support some T-cell responses through antigen presentation, and perhaps more importantly, through the generation of diverse T cells and lymphoid organogenesis. These new findings show that the development and function of T cells depend on B cells independently of specific antibody production.
