A first look at the Washington Capitals’ engraving on the Stanley Cup

The Washington Capitals held a private party on Monday night to give out championship rings to players, staff, and ownership.

The Stanley Cup was in attendance for the special event and it had a brand new look.

The top of five bands, which featured championship teams from 1953 to 1965, was removed. On the bottom of the Cup a new band was added and it featured a new team. The 2017-18 Washington Capitals.

Here’s a first look at the engravings via Devante Smith-Pelly, who posted this photo in his Instagram Story.
