Vancouver Canucks By The Numbers: Nos. 4 & 28 – Luc Bourdon

The Canuck Way continues its series looking at the best Vancouver Canucks at every number. This time we look at No. 4. This player holds No. 28’s spot.

There were many players that wore these two numbers. However, as the Canucks have made tributes toward Luc Bourdon, so will The Canuck Way by giving him these spots. While not the biggest name to wear either number, no other really stands out.

Bourdon was drafted by the Canucks in the first round (10th overall) of the 2005 NHL Draft. After splitting the 2005-06 season between the QMJHL’s Val d’Or Foreurs and Moncton Wildcats, he made the Canucks roster to start the 2006-07 season. He would play nine games, wearing the No. 4, before being sent back to Moncton. He would once again be traded mid-season, this time to the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

He would play 27 games for the Canucks, this time wearing No. 28, in the 2007-08 season. He spent most of his time with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose. That would be his last season as unfortunately he was killed in a motorcycle accident on May 29, 2008.

Since then, no Canuck has worn the No. 28 in a regular season game.
