Villanueva will attempt to be the first male winner since Reece Mastin in 2011 while Dunbar and Price will be trying to become the first group to win since 2005.

US crooner Chris Isaak has been mentoring fresh faced 19-year-old Villanueva, who is just out of high school and the clear crowd favourite.

Mt Gambier married mum and former lawyer Louise Adams, 31, who is on James Blunt’s team, is the only solo female in the finale. If she wins, she will be fourth straight female to take out the series.

The last three winners were Samantha Jade, Dami Im and Marlisa Punzalan.

Together on stage and off, Dunbar and Price, both 24, have captured hearts with their harmonies.

The lovebirds are under the guidance of Guy Sebastian. He last coached the group category in 2010 and his highest finishing act was fourth-placed Mahogany.

No group has won the X Factor since Random in the inaugural 2005 season, who were coached by Mark Holden.

The reality show was shelved after season one before being reignited. Since the show’s return no group has finished higher than third.

The X Factor finale screens 7.30pm Tuesday on Seven.
