Tory makes his picks for deputy mayors, committee chairs

Mayor John Tory has announced Toronto council appointments which reflect his priorities for this term of office.
Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong will continue in his role as statutory deputy mayor.
The mayor has also appointed three deputy mayors: Councillor Ana Bailao on housing, Councillor Michael Thompson on jobs, and Councillor Stephen Holyday on modernization and governance.
“Throughout this process, I have been focused on involving people in the city government who want to work on the agenda that the people of Toronto have elected me to implement,” Tory said in a statement.
“That agenda includes getting on with building transit and more affordable housing, keeping our city affordable, and continuing to provide the responsible and stable approach to governance that we worked together to deliver over the last four years.”
