RSS icon goodness

Some of you may have seen this on the IE team blog and should be as excited as I am...

http://blogs.msdn.com/rssteam/archive/2005/12/14/503778.aspx

Internet Explorer 7 and the Windows RSS Platform have now officially adopted the orange RSS icon that the FireFox browser uses, and are doing so with the full support of the Mozilla team.  This is another great step forward towards being a great RSS community member and sets a precedent for communication between IE and FireFox.

I'm equally excited to announce that Outlook 12 will be using the same icon to represent RSS throughout the product.  We are going to be building the new icon into Outlook over the next few weeks, and think it's going to be a great way for users to see the synergy that exists between Outlook 12 and IE 7.

Look for a post from me soon where I'll detail exactly what that synergy is, as well as a preview of the new icon...  :)

Glad to see that Office will be using the icon as well. But why does Office always have to Office-ize everything? Would it be too hard to use the same images and UI styles that the operating system provides instead of always having to reinvent the wheel? </rant> :)

Hmm, looks like you removed the part about the office-izing. It would be great if you use the exact same icon!

It's spelt "OutLook"...
