University-wide Centers University-wide Centers
Over the years, Cornell has created a number of centers on campus to devote special attention to issues of university-wide importance. Although they may reside within a particular college or school for administrative support, these centers have a mandate to facilitate cross-disciplinary scholarship by drawing faculty and students from all over campus to collaborate on projects and initiatives.

Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, College of
International Programs of CALS (IP/CALS) provides a "platform" that facilitates and promotes involvement of College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) faculty and students in international activities in support of teaching, research, and extension. Its objective is to maintain and build CALS and Cornell's strength in generating, sharing, and applying international knowledge. Cornell is in the forefront among U.S. universities for international work, and IP/CALS contributes to maintaining this position of leadership.

Arts and Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, College of
International studies are deeply ingrained in the fabric of College departments such as History, Anthropology or Sociology, Government and Economics, which historically have trained students to pursue international careers. Similarly, area studies departments like Asian Studies, German Studies, or Near Eastern Studies have long helped students and faculty pursue in depth and specialized knowledge of specific regions of the world.

Architecture, Art, and Planning, College of Architecture, Art, and Planning, College of
International study programs are an essential component of the curricula of the College of Architecture, Art and Planning, and reflect the global nature of the practices and research represented by its faculty and students.

Engineering, College of Engineering, College of
The College of Engineering is a global leader in the discovery of new knowledge, creation of transforming inventions, and the education of students who will contribute to a better future. To accomplish this vision the college has established strategic transnational priorities consistent with those of the University.

Hotel Administration, School of Hotel Administration, School of
The mission of Cornell's School of Hotel Administration is to shape the global knowledge base in hospitality management. Realizing that vision requires outstanding performance on the two activities that are central to the mission: creating and sharing knowledge about hospitality management.

Human Ecology, College of Human Ecology, College of
The College of Human Ecology has a long-standing involvement in international activities, including research programs in nutrition, child development, facility planning, textiles, and policy as well as educational exchanges with foreign universities and study abroad programs.

Industrial and Labor Relations, School of Industrial and Labor Relations, School of
The School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) was founded "to improve industrial and labor conditions in the State through the provision of instruction, the conduct of research, and the dissemination of information in all aspects of industrial, labor, and public relations, affecting employers and employees." Today, this core mission extends far beyond New York State. ILR's research, teaching, and extension activities reach out to employers, workers, students, policymakers, and researchers around the world.

Law School Law School
Modern legal education must train students to succeed in a rapidly evolving transnational environment. Mastery of a single nation's system of laws is no longer adequate, even if that nation is the United States. The world's leading law schools are already international in scope and purpose. The Cornell Law School is such an institution, with the Berger International Legal Studies Program, the Clarke Program in East Asian Law and Culture, the Clarke Middle East Fund and the Clarke Center for International and Comparative Legal Studies.

Management, Johnson Graduate School of Management, Johnson Graduate School of
The Program for International Business Education, housed at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, works to bring international topics into business classes and bring business ideas into Cornell's area studies programs. This effort includes guest speakers, conferences, classes, social activities, and support for student and faculty travel and research.

Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of
Education on Veterinary Medicine at Cornell dates back to its origin in 1868, when Dr. James Law a distinguished Scottish veterinarian received the first group of aspiring veterinarians. Over the years, the College has accumulated one of the most international diverse faculty of any other College in the United States.

Weill Medical College Weill Medical College
Weill Medical College has been a leader in International Medical Education among medical schools in the United States. We are one of the few medical schools to have created an endowment program to support medical student educational experiences abroad, both in developing and developed countries.
