eHealth Consortium

Following the success of iProA's co-organizing of "IT in Health Forum" in 2003, we joined hands with the Department of Health, the OGCIO, the Hospital Authority and the Hong Kong Society of Medical Informatics to form the eHealth Consortium this year. The objectives of the consortium are to facilitate and promote the use of IT as a complementary tool in the health care industry, enhancing the accessibility, quality and effectiveness of health care services in Hong Kong. The eHealth Consortum will focus on three key areas, namely: Data Sharing and Standardisation, Education and Capacity Building and the eHealth Forum 2006 will be held on 15-16 September 2006. Dr. Elizabeth Quat, President, serves as member of Advisory Committee of the Consortium, Dr. Winnie Tang, iProA Vice President, serves as the Chairman of the Steering Committee. Exco members Dr. Heston Kwong, Mrs. Patricia Lau, Dr. FT Chan, Mr. KC Chan, Ms. Grace Au and Ms. Lillian Lai have joined the Consortium's Organizing Committee. Dr. Heston Kwong is also the Co-Chairman of the Organising Committee and Mrs. Patricia Lau as the Convener of the eHealth Forum Sub-committee.

In view of the Association's active participation in the eHealth area, a Special Interest Group (SIG) has been formed under the Executive Committee. Dr. Heston Kwong is the Advisor, and Mrs. Patricia Lau and Mr. KC Chan are the Co-Conveners of the SIG.
