2008 AP/CP EXAM DATES. In an effort to accomodate candidates who are starting fellowships or jobs on July 1, the 2008 AP/CP examinations will begin on Monday, May 19, 2008 and should be completed by the last part of June. Because of the earlier start to exams, the deadline date for application for the Spring 2008 examinations will be January 4, 2008. This deadline is approximately 10 days earlier than it has been previously.

Assuming we experience no major problems with this change, the ABP anticipates beginning the spring AP/CP exams in mid-May on a permanent basis. Candidates will receive specific date assignments for the examinations as they have in the past. If a candidate chooses not to accept the assigned dates, there will be a $250 fee for the first time a candidates transfers to a future exam and a $500 fee for each subsequent transfer.

DERMATOLOGY RESIDENTS. Please do NOT use the ABP's on-line payment system. Please send your application and check to the American Board of Dermatology, Inc.

JULY 2007 HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS. The Wyndham Hotel will be closed for remodeling in July 2007. Rooms blocked at Marriott Westshore (813) 282-5710, mention ABP room rate of $135 for Single. You are responsible for making your own hotel reservation.

MOLECULAR GENETIC PATHOLOGY. All applicants for the MGP examination who have completed an MGP fellowship should submit a copy of the logbook of cases in which they have been involved during the fellowship (see MGP Program Requirements). By-experience candidates are also required to submit a logbook of 150 cases from the time period used for certification.

The dates for three of the 2007 subspecialty exams have changed. Please click the 'Examination Dates' link at the left, scroll down to Subspecialty Examinations, and check the dates for Hematology, Neuropathology, and Pediatric Pathology.
