History

Krupp Thyssen Nirosta GmbH was formed in 1995 by combining the stainless flat-rolled activities of the then Krupp and Thyssen groups. But the age of the company is deceptive. When it comes to producing stainless steel, our employees can boast almost 90 years of experience. On October 17, 1912 the firm of Fried. Krupp, Essen, applied for a patent for the "manufacture of objects requiring high resistance to corrosion ..." with the German patent office in Berlin. It was the start of an unbelievable success story.

Together with its affiliated companies ThyssenKrupp Acciai Speciali Terni, ThyssenKrupp Mexinox and Shanghai Krupp Stainless ThyssenKrupp Nirosta is now the world's leading manufacturer of stainless flat products with a wide-ranging portfolio of grades, sizes and finishes. These materials are used in everyday domestic appliances as well as in technically sophisticated and sensitive areas of application.
