WEEK #1 IN NORPAC OFFERED EXCITEMENT
Opening weekend saw a couple of old rivals get together as the Puget Sound Tomahawks headed into Seattle for a two game set. Seattle, powered by a 5 point night by Kyle Stombaugh upended the 'Hawks by an 11-2 margain. The same two teams squared off on Saturday and Kevin Quinn's 3 goal out put rallied the Totems (2-0) to an 11-2 win and a weekend sweep of the Tomahawks.

The expansion Rogue Valley Wranglers opened their season hosting the newly-improved, Tri City Titans. The Titans, led by a 4 goal outburst from Jared Darby, topped the hard-working Wranglers by a score of 10-3. Saturday night's rematch looked like it was going to be close. The game was tied 3-3 at the midway point until Darby gave his team the lead for good. The Titans improved to 2-0 on the season with a 10-4 win.

The last series of the weekend saw the Eugene Generals travel to Portland for a rekindled rivalry weekend with the River City Jaguars. Saturday's contest saw the upstart Jags get off to an early 3-0. The Generals rallied back to score 2 early 3rd period goals to bring the game back to within one goal. However, Nick Cimity shut the door the rest of the way for the 'Jags, stopping 31 of 33 shots for the 5-2 River City win.

Sunday's rematch was much of the same as the Jags jumped out to a 4-0 lead. The Generals battled back hard and added a couple of late goals, but it was not enough as River City improved to 2-0 on the season with a 5-2 victory.

Eugene will get a chance to salvage their weekend as they travel to Tri City for a key matchup with the 2-0 Titans. Game time is 7:00 PM P.S.T.
