Ep�e at the club

Sheffield Sword Club was re-established in 2004 in the wonderful surroundings of the English Institute of Sport Sheffield (EISS) as there was a growing group of local fences who wanted to fence in good surroundings more often.

Most of the fencers fence more than once a week at other clubs in the locality, which provides a wide range of fencing experience as well as a good mix of fencing styles and abilities, combined with the excellent standard of beginners that our beginners courses provide, this allows members and visitors to the club a varied and rewarding evening of fencing at any weapon.

The club coaches range from fencers who are moving from competition fencing into coaching to more experienced three weapon coaches all of whom are available to give lessons (whilst not engaged training our beginners) to all fencers.

Due to Sheffield being a large city there is a broad demographic base from young to older fencers, and as we have two Universities in the city there are a number of young fencers from these institutions who also train with us (in addition to their clubs) so there will usually be other people in your age range - if that is an issue for you.
