NYR AT BOS
Rangers 4, Boston Bruins 3 (OT)

4/8/2006

The Rangers left two more major milestones in their wake Saturday afternoon in Boston. The Blueshirts beat the Bruins 4-3 in overtime to reach 100 points in the NHL standings for the first time since 1993-94, and Jaromir Jagr continued his magical season by breaking Adam Graves' single-season goals record. The historic 53rd goal sparked the Rangers back from an early 2-0 deficit.

NOTES
* NHL scoring leader Jaromir Jagr's scored his 53rd goal of the season, becoming the Rangers' all-time single-season goals leader. Jagr and Adam Graves had shared the record at 52 ever since Jagr tied Graves on March 27 at home against Buffalo.

* Jagr has now broken seven Rangers single-season records in 2005-06. They are most points, most goals, most power play goals, most shots on goal, most points by a right wing, most goals by a right wing and most assists by a right wing. He has also tied the team record for game-winning goals.

* Jarkko Immonen scored his second NHL goal in his second NHL game.

* Rangers goaltender Kevin Weekes made 23 saves for his third consecutive win.

* Michael Nylander scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season for the Rangers. His second goal was the game-winner at 0:40 of overtime. He also had the lone assist on Jagr's record-breaking goal.

* The Rangers, 8-2-2 in their last 12 games, moved five points ahead of second-place Philadelphia atop the Atlantic Division.

* There were a number of Rangers fans in the crowd and, at times, when Jagr was on the ice chants of "M-V-P, M-V-P" echoed throughout the building.

* The Rangers swept the four games versus the Bruins this season. The Rangers had not swept Boston in the regular season since 1989-90.
