GM DAEWOO Matiz, Beloved Car of Mr. Hong-Cheol Roh

GM Daewoo’s Matiz, the only mini car in Korea, has become the beloved choice of Mr. Hong-Cheol Roh, a celebrity.

Mr. Roh, a new generation star who is gaining in popularity, purchased a red Matiz and participated in a handover ceremony at the central sales office in Youido, Seoul. Interesting caricatures and photos of Mr. Roh were inserted in the car’s bonnet and doors and are expected to attract people’s attention.

Mr. Roh said he purchased the car because he thought the cuteness and stoutness match well with his cheerful and active character.

He added, “With various benefits and fantastic fuel efficiency, the Matiz is an ideal car with which to cope with the sluggish economy and high oil prices. I expect the Matiz will be an excellent conveyance for me.”

GM Daewoo’s Matiz is the only mini car in Korea. It is well priced and comes with various benefits, including exemption of registration tax, acquisition tax, and a 50 per cent discount on highway tolls and fees for public parking lots.

Due to its continuous popularity, first half sales of the Matiz came in it at 24,320 units for the domestic market. This represents a 12.8 percent increase on the same period last year. The Matiz is gaining popularity, especially for business use in a lot of companies.
