Journal policies for preprints, and resources

Policies of journals regarding preprints varies, with more than a third of publishers accepting preprints (see). Many do not consider preprints as prior publications. Some require that editors be made aware of preprints when submitting manuscripts. Some allow preprints only on university servers.

Policies regarding citing preprints vary, with some treating preprints as personal communication, leaving upto reviewers their weightage when evaluating manuscripts.
